Welcome
Conor Murphy (xMEP Cand.) "Pondering Future" Prompting Good
Trying to determine likelihood of success of an effort to pull together all non-big parties under one centrist umbrella
Trying to determine likelihood of success of an effort to pull together all non-big parties under one centrist umbrella
As a truly independent candidate, I will not have to "toe the party line", I will use all my experience to get the answers to the questions you need asking. Now is the time to Vote for these values. Vote Conor Murphy, No.1, in the European Elections, at you local Dublin polling station on 7th June 2024. Thank you most kindly in advance. I will not let you down. Let's put highly capable, suitably qualified, delivery focused, LEADERS, into these important European Parliament positions. Please do not waste your vote, it is time for change, Ireland badly needs fresh eyes and fresh faces in Government positions. The coalition government and its Fianna Fail and Fianna Gael TD's/Ministers may even benefit from a little time away from the spotlight and these particularly gruelling roles. Let's get leaders with a proven track record of senior leadership and delivery, into Dublin's MEP seats. Please vote for me, Conor Murphy, as No.1 candidate on June the 7th.
I WILL not support any business or business activity that contravenes these principles
I hereby commit to reporting back to you each week on your questions and on all the key issues facing DUBLIN, IRELAND & the world in general.
I am Dublin born (in Ballymun) and bred (primarily in Rathmines for education and sports). I am committed to meeting with the people of Dublin each week as I want to get those of you who feel slightly disenfranchised and disappointed in your Goverment, into a much better position in relation to how you are being treated by your country
The people of Ireland and in particular the young and the elderly of Irish descent, require and deserve some improvement in the extent to which they believe their Government is prioritising their needs and not leaving them to fend for themselves, alone and without support or representation
I kindly request your vote in the upcoming European election, lets pull together to put in place an MEP who is not only highly qualified for the job but who moreover can be 100% trusted to deliver results in Europe each week for Dublin, for Ireland & for the Irish people
I personally am building this info site as quickly as I can, given exam commitments etc. so watch this space for daily updates, news and improvements/additions
Aim to provide leadership for Dublin and Ireland in Europe, which leadership based on best in class corporate experience and ongoing team sport participation, will seek to ensure that, all the hard-fought gains by the people of Ireland, are highly valued and preserved (and not in any way flippantly sacrificed and surrendered due lack of commitment, competency or complacency).
Saturday - all day putting up boards and getting the campaign vehicle repaired as it sprung an untimely fuel leak on Thursday. Another very long yet as always enjoyable day. The highlight by far was a chat with a young homeless couple near Merrion Street whose names and number I have but who so sadly had got to No.19 in the ranking for receipt of housing provision only to be bumped to position No. 289 following the Ukraine incursion.
THIS IS HORRENDOUSLY SAD & THIS IS WHY OUR GOVT. MUST NOW kindly exit stage left.
The 2nd wealthiest Country in the world BUT according to young paramedics I also met last Thursday, they were on their way to attending to...... 12,500 homeless.
This is ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS. It's really not difficult. Appoint a Homeless Minister. Develop strategic choices/options, evaluate and screen options, SWOT, IRR, NPV, EMV, rank options, analyse any potential unintended consequences and then assign budget and then deliver project plan on time under budget.
BUT what hope is there, here is the home of Corrib ($6bn instead of $1bn (milked by local contractors) and 10 (TEN!) years late.)
For Gods sake please we must do more to help these poor kids, this level of delivery does not engender confidence of competence. Instead of directing funds via migrants to accommodation owners (as also during Covid), we need to sort asap the priorities and BLOCK all borders until all Irish homeless people have their own lockable safe roof over their heads.
Sunday - Time-out to shoot some video footage to try to learn about other media channels by which viewers and audience may be accessed outwith the invisible support of local media avenues.
Monday - Bank-Holiday, spent more or less all day, going up & down that ladder adding poster boards in Dun Laoghaire, Monkstown, Blackrock, East Wall, Clontarf, Sutton, Howth, Malahide, Drumcondra and Phibsboro - a long arduous day, I do wonder am I the only MEP candidate putting up my own boards? Well its tough but maybe it shows how much I want this and am committed to becoming an MEP. There is vast scope for improvement in how this and all Govt. roles are delivered in particular re. connectivity with the People of Ireland i.e. for avoidance of doubt, those actually conveying enormous power in its elected representatives but alas in whom their duty of professional delivery does not always appear to be applied. We can & must do much much better.
Tuesday - Further work on campaign strategy & competitor analysis - No sooner had I paid my circa euro 2k deposit to enter this race but I received a most detailed 10 page brief setting-out WHY I would not most likely be included in major media election run-up. It's feels a little like as if they are above Non-Party / Independent candidates almost as if we don't exist. At best its a little non-inclusive and at worst it feels like an effort to keep in place for whatever "reason" those with whom they have a well developed relationship. Actually if they had made time to meet the non-party candidates they may find some candidates who are way more suited and qualified for delivering the responsibility of Country Governance.
The equanimity and fairness and inbeddedness of the Irish written & broadcast media with the existing Government incumbents appears a tad unhealthy. But it is what it is. What it does in fact serve to encourage & drive, is of course the myriad and various efforts of us Non-Party candidates to access the population via other media avenues. Because we have no other choice but to so do.
Even then we have to put up with the latest threats to curtail our use of those routes. First we are low priority for mainstream media and then they say we cannot find other ways to express ourselves.
Free Speech legislation is more nonsense and utter rubbish. Please just do your job properly and then no one will be upset. My goodness :o)
As with some aspects of government, neither they or the mainstream media has exactly been setting the place on fire or pulling up trees these recent years.
It's almost as if they feel the Irish public does not have a mind and voice of its own. For sure I have got some fascinating insights as to how things are done whilst on the campaign trail or on the way up a ladder but way more importantly, I have heard first hand from the amazing people of Ireland, the items that are genuinely broken and in urgent need of repair.
So help me and the other Non-Party Candidates win our way to improving how things are done and in particular how the people of Ireland need to be far better informed INDEPENDENTLY & OBJECTIVELY in order to increase the connection between the EU & Ireland
Wednesday - Amendment of final parts in campaign jig-saw including the delivery of a short video clip explaining the EU Asylum & Migration Pact lest the people of Ireland and voters be otherwise kept in the dark.
I note on my rounds that FF have added a few of the innovative concepts that I have tried to pioneer and whether by accident or intent, I am pleased to see a shift; some change, some acknowledgment that there are other and better ways to deliver.
On the other hand, I was quite upset to see Fine Gael cover-up one on my very few early boards. This looks sloppy and unprofessional and for me at least serves to confirm a feeling of disdain on their part towards others almost similar to how some others in Ireland most likely feel after too much non-delivery of responsibilities of Government either professionally or with the buy-in of the Irish Public via consultation on the most important issues, namely, housing, homelessness, immigration, the WHO Pandemic Treaty, the Asylum & Migration Pact and War & the funding thereof (nae even further tacit support thereof) versus Neutrality etc.
Heres a logical thought. Maybe it is this simple. A vote for the status quo, is logically surely, a vote for 5 more years of what has proven most disappointing & frustrating to the Irish People. Does anyone really want this. I am just not sure why any logical intelligent person would vote for more of THIS SAME. There are capable qualified candidates out here. Why not as a voter, be logical, don't waste your vote but rather include your vote and voice for CHANGE
Thursday - still some way to go, this MEP candidate has the heart of a lion and never throws in the towel. Today I have been recording 3*60 second videos mixing Sport/Exercise & Politics to just show what is possible by way of connecting the dots between the people of Ireland and the EU. It is possible, if you watch the clips above, that in just 3 minutes you will know more about EU Law than that achieved by 13 people (well 12, as one chap, Ciaran Cuffe, has done a brilliant job) over the last 5 years.
Friday - Election Day - it will be interesting to see if one can deliver anything that is not in keeping with the polls of the last two weeks.
Saturday - Back up the ladder to start taking the boards down for use in the upcoming general election as the polls would lead us to understand that we have only circa 1-2% of possible votes....mmm...maybe not, lets get this over the line, Team Conor Murphy
People of Ireland, you WILL not be disappointed if you choose Conor Murphy as your No.1 Dublin MEP, you will know each week what has happened in the EU Parliament and what is happening the following week & month and you will have at your service a person of deep and long blue-chip global management training in regulatory and foreign affairs, in finance and economics, in diplomacy and trade, in negotiation skills c/w deep Harvard 3D negotiation training during the Corrib project and in addition your esteemed representative is also handily conversant in a number of other European Languages which is possibly a useful attribute for developing enhanced and added alliances and coalitions of support within the EU Corridors. Thank you sooooo much, Team Conor.
I would say, why not just ask (via Linkedin) any of my former colleagues at Shell, Exxon or at London Irish and Rugby Club Groningen, about me and I am quite sure they will confirm I am the right man for the job.
Do my utmost to stand for high quality, 100% honest, trustworthy, fully open, government and leadership which seeks only to serve as best I can the people of Dublin, Ireland and Europe.
Further Boards erected, new design created, ordered and installation in pro, attended European Movement Ireland event last Thursday night with 10 fellow candidates where each candidate had 1 minute to set-out their position to a panel including press and the audience. Positions also entered to UL hosted portal, Which Candidate which positions I have included here on Diary page. Also attended Deaf Village Ireland where I confirmed they would be one of 4 recipients of all of my 5yr circa euro 1mm salary along with Children & Mental Health, Women & Domestic Violence, the Elderly & Isolation and whatever is left I also wish to use to support nurses, Garda and care workers.

Please reach us at info@voteconormurphy.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
At a high level, That DEMOCRACY means every single EU Citizen feels included as a vital, valued, informed, protected and cared-for citizen of our union of states.
I can & will cover all issues BUT I have particular unique competencies in Energy, Health and Sport and as a Student and CEO, I have particular passion to ensure our young people & our elderly are actively included and taken care of by way of a serious priority.
As a resident of South County Dublin, I see with my own eyes vast amounts of development and beautiful new apartments complexes everywhere BUT I must believe that persons of Irish Nationality in particular the young, for some reason, do not feel they have access to this added capacity. Where we have added in recent years, presumably because of labour, skills and taxes shortfalls, almost 500,000 actually absolutely fantastic young people from Europe, China, India & Africa, we somehow have to find a way of adjusting the economic metrics such that our own young people feel equally prioritised, valued and cared for.
